Introduction of JAPAN WEEK IN BHUTAN 2019

The Embassy of Japan, JICA Bhutan Office, and Japan Foundation New Delhi, will jointly conduct the “JAPAN WEEK IN BHUTAN 2019”, in Thimphu and Paro, from 29th September to 6th October 2019, in cooperation with the Royal Government of Bhutan.
On the Opening Day, on 29th September at 3:30pm at Clock Tower in Thimphu, a Judo and Karate demonstration, along with a Japanese anime medley performance, will be presented by young Bhutanese students.
O’Strangers will present Japanese and Bhutanese songs to enthrall the audience.
JICA Bhutan will present the charms of Japanese culture to Bhutanese people by offering an experience of wearing Yukata, tasting Japanese Cuisine and getting their health checked.
One can also enjoy viewing the latest Japanese film “Dad’s Lunch Box”, which showcases the warmth and love between a father and his school-going daughter.

Japan Foundation will be conducting JLPT (Japanese Language Proficiency Test) for the first time in Bhutan this year and in order to encourage language learners, they will hold a seminar on 1st October 2019. All are welcome to join.

Mononoke – Animation program, sponsored by Japan Foundation, will start broadcasting on BBS TV 2 from 1st October 2019 at 5:00pm

Professional soccer team, Omiya Ardija of Japan, will conduct a special Football class for Bhutanese children on 6th October 2019. Prior registration is required.

The detailed schedule of events of Japan Week in Bhutan is as follows:
