Visit to Bhutan by Ambassador Hiramatsu (Closing of the 30th Anniversary of the Establishment of Diplomatic Relations between Japan and Bhutan)

Ambassador Hiramatsu visited the Kingdom of Bhutan from December 22 to 24, 2016.
During his visit, he attended the Handover Ceremony for Patrol Cars to Community Police Centers in Bhutan; was received in audience by His Majesty Jigme Singye Wangchuck, the Fourth King of Bhutan; made courtesy calls on His Excellency Lyonchhen Tshering Tobgay, Prime Minister of Bhutan, and His Excellency Lyonpo Damcho Dorji, Minister for Foreign Affairs of Bhutan.
He also observed the friendly exchange match of table tennis between Japan and Bhutan. Ambassador and Mrs. Hiramatsu hosted a reception to mark the closing of the 30th Anniversary of the Establishment of Diplomatic Relations between Japan and Bhutan and to celebrate the birthday of His Majesty Emperor of Japan.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Japan, in cooperation with Japan Table Tennis Association, dispatched 7 table tennis coaches to the Kingdom of Bhutan, from December 19 to 26, under the scheme of “Sports for Tomorrow”.
Ambassador Hiramatsu observed the friendly exchange match of table tennis played between Japan and Bhutan, and attended the award ceremony of the match in Thimphu, on December 23.
