Ambassador ONO Felicitates Admiral R. Hari Kumar on the Conferment of the Order of the Rising Sun, Gold and Silver Star

Ambassador of Japan to India, H.E. Mr. ONO Keiichi, today hosted a ceremony to felicitate Admiral R. Hari Kumar, PVSM, AVSM, VSM, ADC, the 25th Chief of the Naval Staff, on receiving the Decoration of the Order of the Rising Sun, Gold and Silver Star.
Admiral R. Hari Kumar was decorated in recognition of his outstanding contribution to strengthening the relationship between India and Japan in the field of defense.
In the context of the development of Japan-India security relations for the realization of a “Free and Open Indo-Pacific”, including in the field of maritime security, Ambassador Ono praised the significant contribution made by Admiral R. Hari Kumar in improving the interoperability between Japan and India and in enhancing the capabilities of Japan Self-Defense Forces.
Admiral R. Hari Kumar stated that the immense strides we have made in India-Japan relations, particularly in the maritime domain, are the result of ongoing initiatives such as bilateral naval exercises. A stronger India-Japan partnership is not only necessary for India and Japan but also for the region, and indeed, for the entire globe.
