“Development of North Eastern Indian Region: Indo-Japan Collaboration for Fostering Entrepreneurship and People Connectivity” Second Intellectual Dialogue
On 3rd March, “Development of North Eastern Indian Region: Indo-Japan Collaboration for Fostering Entrepreneurship and People Connectivity” Second Intellectual Dialogue was co-hosted virtually by the Embassy of Japan in India and Asian Confluence, a think-tank based in North Eastern India.
Japan has historical ties with the North Eastern region of India and attaches great importance to the development of the region in the spirit of trust and friendship. The North East also stands on a strategically important place to realize a free, open and inclusive Indo-Pacific. Japan is proud to have been a partner with the people of the North East for their brighter and sustainable future. The event marked the first North Eastern Dialogue, organized by the Embassy of Japan, which particularly focused on Japan-North Eastern India relationship and cooperation, aimed at promoting the intellectual interactions between Japan and the North East.
Ambassador SUZUKI delivered the inaugural address and Ms. Smita Pant, Joint Secretary, BM (Bangladesh, Myanmar) Division, Ministry of External Affairs delivered her speech. In the Dialogue, discussions were held on how the infrastructure project that Japan is implementing with the cooperation of India, can improve connectivity with neighboring countries. The discussion also covered how the cooperation can bring new opportunities in empowering entrepreneurship in agriculture/Bamboo sector and Fostering People to People Contact.
