Participation of Ambassador Suzuki in the inauguration ceremony of Delhi Eastern Peripheral Expressway ITS Installation Project

1 On December 23, Ambassador Suzuki delivered a speech at the inauguration ceremony of the Intelligent Transportation System (ITS) on the Delhi Eastern Peripheral Expressway (EPE) held in Dasna, Ghaziabad district in the state of Uttar Pradesh. The Japanese government is supporting the introduction of ITS in the EPE through Japanese ODA loan. A smooth traffic system that can cope with the rapidly increasing traffic volume will be constructed through the installation of the Toll Management System (TMS) and the Advanced Traffic Management System (ATMS).
 
2 At the event, apart from Ambassador Suzuki, Shri Nitin Gadkari, Hon’ble Minister of Road Transport and Highways, and others delivered greetings. In his address, Ambassador Suzuki pointed out that improving road traffic environment is not only crucial for economic growth and enhancing supply chain, but also for reducing carbon dioxide emissions in the transport sector, and stated that Japan always stands with India in terms of enhancement and improvement of connectivity.
