2023 Spring Conferment of Decorations

On 29th April, the Government of Japan announced the list of foreign recipients of the 2023 Spring Conferment of Decorations. Following three persons are among this year’s foreign recipients from India.
The Embassy of Japan in India has the honour to pay respect to the contributions they made for strengthening Japan-India relations in the last few decades.
Dr. Rajiv Kumar (Former Vice Chairman of NITI Aayog)
Type of the Decoration: The Order of the Rising Sun, Gold and Silver Star
Service: Contributed to strengthening the economic relations between Japan and India
Admiral Karambir Singh, PVSM, AVSM (Retd) (Former Chief of the Naval Staff, Indian Navy)
Type of the Decoration: The Order of the Rising Sun, Gold and Silver Star
Service : Contributed to strengthening the relationship between Japan and India on national defense
Ms. Sarita Sundaram (President of Teacher's Association of Japanese Mumbai)
Type of the Decoration: The Order of the Rising Sun, Gold and Silver Rays
Service : Contribution to promoting Japanese language and culture in India and facilitating friendly relations between Japan and India
