Seminar on Connectivity Cooperation for a Free, Open, and Inclusive Indo-Pacific: Building Economic Resilience through Enhanced Connectivity

On April 8th, the Embassy of Japan, the Ministry of External Affairs of India and RIS/AIC, one of the leading think-tanks in India, co-hosted the online seminar “Connectivity Cooperation for a Free, Open and Inclusive Indo-Pacific: Building Economic Resilience through Enhanced Connectivity.” This seminar was held in the light of Japan being a lead country for India’s Indo-Pacific Oceans Initiative (IPOI).
Ambassador Satoshi Suzuki gave an inaugural address, and the speech by Ambassador Saurabh Kumar, Secretary (East) of MEA, was also delivered by Ms. Geetika Srivastava, Joint Secretary (Indo-Pacific).
During the sessions “Quality Infrastructure and Economic Resilience” and “Digital Connectivity,” experts from Japan, India and ASEAN discussed ways forward for further regional cooperation in order to achieve improved connectivity and economic resilience in the Indo-Pacific.
