Ambassador Suzuki’s participation in “Virtual Cherry Blossom Mao Festival, Manipur 2021”

1. Ambassador Suzuki delivered his remarks as the Guest of Honour at the inauguration ceremony of “Virtual Cherry Blossom Mao Festival, Manipur 2021” on 30th November, which was organized by the Department of Tourism, Government of Manipur, and Indian Council for Cultural Relations Regional Office, Shillong.  
 
2.  Cherry Blossom Mao Festival has been held at the bloom of cherry blossom since 2017. This year, the festival was organized virtually due to the COVID-19 pandemic. During the festival, the Local Performing Arts Club of Iwaizumi High School, Iwate Prefecture, Japan demonstrated the Nakano Nanazumai, a traditional dance in Iwaizumi Town. The online webinar “North East India towards Higher study in Japan” was also held in collaboration with Tokyo University.
 
3.  At the inauguration ceremony, Ambassador Suzuki and Honorable Chief Minister of Manipur, Mr. Biren Singh delivered their remarks. Ambassador Suzuki mentioned the importance of people-to-people exchange and further development of friendly relations with Manipur toward the 70th Anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic ties between Japan and India next year.
