2021/11/10
On November 10, 2021, Ambassador Suzuki held a ceremony to celebrate the conferral of the Foreign Minister's Commendation FY2021 upon the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII). The ceremony was attended by Mr. Chandrajit Banerjee, Director General of CII and other distinguished guests from CII.
The Commendation was presented to the CII in recognition of its enduring contribution towards strengthening economic relations between Japan and India as one of India's largest business organizations.
Following the awarding of the Certificate of Commendation, Ambassador Suzuki noted that CII celebrated its 125th-anniversary last year and has made significant contributions to strengthening the economic relationship between Japan and India. The contribution can be seen through the co-hosting of the "Japan-India Business Leaders Forum" with Keidanren since 2007, the sending of parliamentary delegations to Japan in cooperation with the Sasakwa Peace Foundation, and the development of human resources in the manufacturing and logistics sectors. The Ambassador also looks forward to working even more closely with CII next year as we celebrate the 70th anniversary of our diplomatic relations in 2022. Ambassador's congratulatory remarks is here.
Mr. Banerjee reviewed the past efforts that we have made, and expressed that the award would motivate the CII to further contribute to India's economic growth and further strengthen our bilateral economic relations.
