Foreign Minister Motegi’s Sympathy Message to External Affairs Minister Jaishankar, following the floods and landslides in the northern and southern parts of India

On October 22, Mr. Motegi Toshimitsu, Minister for Foreign Affairs of Japan, issued the following message of sympathy to H.E. Dr. Subrahmanyam Jaishankar, Minister of External Affairs of India, on the damages due to the floods and landslides caused by the heavy rain which hit the State of Uttarakhand and the State of Kerala.

“I am deeply grieved to have learnt that there have been serious damages due to floods and landslides caused by the heavy rain which hit the State of Uttarakhand and the State of Kerala.
I express my heartfelt condolences for the victims of the devastating disasters to their bereaved families. The Government of Japan always stands by the Government and the People of India, and is ready to provide any assistance when needed by the Government of India.
I also pray for the swift recovery of those who suffered as well as the earliest possible reconstruction of the devastated areas.”
