Call for entries to the CLICK! JAPAN PHOTO CONTEST 2020

The Photo Contest 2020 Finally Begins!!

Due to the impact of the corona virus pandemic, this year’s contest has been delayed.  While eagerly waiting for the day when we can finally overcome this pandemic and people from India and Japan can visit each other again, the Embassy of Japan and the Japan Foundation, New Delhi, are pleased to present the “CLICK! JAPAN PHOTO CONTEST 2020”. Please share your experience in Japan with us!

Submit your photos to get a chance
― to win a Canon Camera (if selected among the top 3)
― to be invited to an Online Prize Ceremony and receive a photo album of the winners` photos(if selected among the top 10)
― to have them displayed in an Online Photo Exhibition (if selected)
― to have them featured in newsletters, online SNS channels, and in future events

Qualification Requirements

The contest is only open to citizens of India who have stayed in Japan between January 2019 and December 2020, and will live in India as of 1st February 2021, and are not professional photographers.
Photos only taken in Japan during the above period, on the theme of “What you were impressed by / amazed with / marveled at in Japan”.

Online Photo Exhibition

Considering the situation owing to the COVID-19 pandemic, it has been decided to hold the photo exhibition online, this year.
Among the submitted photos, the selected ones will be displayed on a special page in the website of the Embassy of Japan, from 15th February 2021, as an online photo exhibition.

Online Prize Ceremony

Winners of 10 outstanding works will be invited to an online prize ceremony. After the online prize ceremony, all the winners will be given prizes (photo album of the winners’ works), and the top 3 among those 10 winners will be given special prizes: Canon Cameras, sponsored by Canon India!!
The details of the online ceremony will be announced at a later date, after the winners are selected.

Photo Submission Instructions

Entries are being accepted from 1st November to 5:00pm on 28th December, 2020.

Entry Form

Fill in and submit the Entry form along with your photos (Maximum up to 3 [three] photographs) by email, to, with the subject line of email as “Photo Contest”, within the above mentioned period.
Please note that the size of the picture must not exceed 5 MB of image data per photo. Please send in separate emails if the size of each picture is 5 MB, or total size of the 3 pictures adds up to more than 5 MB.
