Launch event of knowledge report about the Japan-India economic relations by the Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FICCI)

On 18th September, Charge d’Affaires Toshihide ANDO gave remarks at the web event held by The Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FICCI) on the launch of its knowledge report titled “India-Japan: Time to Seize New Opportunities,” which covers bilateral economic relations. External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar gave a keynote address, touching on a wide-ranging Japan-India relationship. Dr. S. Reddy, President of FICCI and Ambassador S. K. Verma, Ambassador of India in Japan also participated in the event.
In his remarks, Charge d’Affaires ANDO appreciated that FICCI, representing Indian business community, proposed concrete policy recommendations in its report to attract further investments from Japan. He expressed his expectations that the Government of India will act on these recommendations so that Japanese companies will strengthen their contribution to “Make in India” and “Make for World” that Prime Minister Modi has proclaimed.
