Inauguration of Delhi Metro Grey Line between Dwarka to Najafgarh, supported by the Government of Japan

On 4th October 2019, the Delhi Metro Rail Project (Phase 3) comprising Grey Line between Dwarka to Najafgarh (4.3 km), with 3 stations, was inaugurated. This illustrates Japan’s active support for the Delhi Metro through Japanese Official Development Assistance (ODA) loans as well as Japanese railway technologies and safety management.
 
The Japanese principles of railway safety management and project management are being implemented in this newly-inaugurated section of Delhi Metro, with Oriental Consultants as the project management consultant. In addition, Japanese technologies and quality control values are also being applied to this section. Mitsubishi Electric is supplying the propulsion system for the rolling stocks.
 
Ambassador Hiramatsu celebrated the inauguration of this line at the inauguration ceremony, along with H.E. Mr. Hardeep Singh Puri, Hon’ble Minister of State, Housing and Urban Affairs, and Mr. Arvind Kejriwal, Hon’ble Chief Minister of Delhi.
