Reception for commemorating the Imperial Succession in Japan

On 1st May, Ambassador and Mrs. Hiramatsu hosted a reception for commemorating the Imperial Succession in Japan at their residence. On the same day, His Majesty the Emperor Naruhito acceded to the Throne and Japanese new era "Reiwa" has begun. "Reiwa" means "Beautiful Harmony". This historical succession to the Imperial Throne from a living Emperor is the first such instance taking place in approximately 200 years.

In his speech, Ambassador Hiramatsu expressed his gratitude to all of people who have contributed to strengthening the Japan-India relationship in various areas and his high hope that Reiwa era, for the world, will be the era for peace and happiness where people bring their hearts and minds together, and care for each other.
