An Evening with Japanese Sake

On 23 November, Ambassador Hiramatsu and Mrs. Hiramatsu hosted "an Evening with Japanese Sake", at their residence, in cooperation with Ms. Rie Yoshitake, Representative of Sake Samurai Association UK, and 5 Sake Breweries from Japan. Ms. Rie Yoshitake is a leading Sake Ambassador in Europe, and is currently spearheading a series of sake campaigns at Japanese Embassies across Europe and the UK.
 
Names of the participating Sake Breweries and 10 kinds of Sake showcased at the event are as below:

After Ambassador Hiramatsu's opening remarks and a toast, a lecture on Japanese Sake was given by Ms. Rie Yoshitake, followed by a Sake-tasting session. The event also featured a scrumptious spread of Japanese cuisine.
 
The Indian guests from the fields of culture and business enjoyed various kinds of Sake, such as sparkling, ume-shu (plum sake), ko-chu (aged sake) and ginjo, served along with a variety of cuisine.
