Lecture-cum-Demonstration of Calligraphy, Tea Ceremony and Kimono & Exhibition of “Cherry Blossoms and Tale of Genji”

A Lecture-cum-Demonstration of Calligraphy, Tea Ceremony and Kimono & Exhibition of “Cherry Blossoms and Tale of Genji”, co-hosted by the Research Institute for Traditional Art of Japan and the Embassy of Japan, was held, at the Ambassador’s Residence on 7 February 2017, and at the India International Centre on 8 February 2017, inviting Dr. Kyoko Horie, Executive Director of the Research institute for Traditional Art of Japan, as well as calligraphy masters and tea masters from Japan.

During the event, the masters gave demonstrations of calligraphy, tea ceremony and Kimono, while an exhibition of Genji Monogatari (Tale of Genji) picture scrolls and calligraphy works themed on Sakura (Cherry Blossoms) by modern calligraphy masters, was held simultaneously.
