OEdo Sukeroku Taiko was established in 1959 by Seido Kobayashi. OEdo Sukeroku Taiko’s drumming form symbolizes the Edo (Tokyo) spirit by combining the technique of striking with the entire body steadily, while moving with powerful elegance. Kobayashi dedicated the group to the Yushima Tenjin Shrine to honour the shrine and preserve the tradition. The group has given numerous performances in Japan and abroad. During the current visit, it is scheduled to perform in Chennai, Pune and New Delhi.
