Exchange of Notes concerning Grant Aid Project ‘The Project for Strengthening Health Care Services in Eastern Area’

The signing ceremony of the Exchange of Notes (E/N) for Grant Aid was held on 22nd November 2022, in Thimphu.

In this ceremony, the E/N were signed between H.E. Mr. SUZUKI Hiroshi, Ambassador of Japan to Bhutan, and Ms. Tshoki Choden, Director, Department of Bilateral Affairs, Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Royal Government of Bhutan, with attendance of H.E. Mr. TAKEI Shunsuke, State Minister for Foreign Affairs of Japan and H.E. Dr. Tandi Dorji, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom of Bhutan.

Details of the project are as follows:

Title: ‘The Project for Strengthening Health Care Services in Eastern Area’

Maximum Amount: 535 million Japanese Yen

This project will provide medical equipment and supplies, including mobile and remote medical equipment, mainly in the field of maternal and child health care, at several key medical institutions in the eastern area of Bhutan. 

Through this cooperation, it is expected to contribute to the sustainable economic growth of Bhutan as well as strengthening of healthcare services in the area.
