Submission for the ONLINE EVENT “Expressing Japanese Poetry: Waka, Confectionery, Song and Dance”
Summary of this event
In this event, you can dive into the world of Japanese Poetry and the many ways that can be expressed and enjoyed, and can explore the process in which Nature becomes a source of inspiration for a traditional Waka poem, which is then turned into a confection, song or dance. You can also find out the similarities between Bhutan and Japan, such as the autumn cherry blossoms of the Himalayas, which were assumed to be the ancestors of Japanese autumn cherries, and the Bhutanese Rhododendron festival, which in many ways resembles the cherry viewing festivities in Japan.
We hope you can enjoy traditional Japanese culture with all your senses.
