Exchange of Notes concerning Grant Aid Project in the amount of 177 million Yen conducted

On May 27, H.E. Mr. SUZUKI Satoshi, Ambassador of Japan to Bhutan, and H.E. Maj. Gen. Vetsop Namgyel, Ambassador of Bhutan to Japan, exchanged notes in New Delhi, concerning the provision of grant aid towards a project in Bhutan under Japan’s ODA scheme, namely, “The Project for Human Resource Development Scholarship”.
Details of the project are as follows:
‘The Project for Human Resource Development Scholarship’
Counterpart: Royal Civil Service Commission, Bhutan
Total amount of the Grant: 177 million Japanese Yen
This project provides scholarship for young public service officers in Bhutan to acquire a Master’s or PhD degree in Japanese higher educational institutions.
This project was started in the year 2018 and this is the fourth Exchange of Notes signed for the Project for Human Resource Development Scholarship. Twenty young public service officers from various government agencies are currently undergoing Master’s or PhD courses in Japanese universities.
It is expected that this project will lead to enhancement in the capability of policy making in Bhutan, and contribute towards further strengthening of the friendship and cooperation between Japan and Bhutan.
