General Grant Aid Assistance for Bhutan - Inauguration ceremony of ‘The Project for Reconstruction of Bridges on Primary National Highway No. 4’

On 26th December 2020, the inauguration ceremony of ‘The Project for Reconstruction of Bridges on Primary National Highway No. 4’ will be held in Trongsa.
 
H.E. Lyonpo Dorji Tshering, Minister for Works and Human Settlement of Bhutan, will attend the ceremony, while Mr. WATANABE Kozo, Chief Representative of JICA Bhutan office, will also join this event.
 
The project, amounting to a total of 2.156 billion Yen, is for the reconstruction of four old bridges and their connecting roads on Primary National Highway No.4. Through this project, an efficient and safe road transportation will be realized, as Primary National Highway No.4 provides a vital link for transporting goods and people as well as for connecting the Central and Indian border in the South.
 
This project will lead to enhancing the living standards besides advancing socio-economic activities in Bhutan, by facilitating smooth traffic and distribution network on Primary National Highway No.4, and contribute towards further strengthening the friendship and cooperation between Japan and Bhutan.
