Exchange of Notes concerning Grant Aid Project in the amount of 300 million Yen conducted

On June 23, H.E. Mr. SUZUKI Satoshi, Ambassador of Japan to Bhutan, and H.E. Maj. Gen. Vetsop Namgyel, Ambassador of Bhutan to Japan, exchanged Notes in New Delhi, concerning the provision of Grant Aid towards a project in Bhutan, under Japan’s ODA scheme, namely, “The Economic and Social Development Programme”.
Details of the project are as follows:
“The Economic and Social Development Programme”
Counterpart: Ministry of Health, Bhutan
Total amount of the Grant: 300 million Japanese Yen
This programme will provide medical equipment, such as ambulances and portable ultrasound machines, to improve medical and health environment in Bhutan.
It is expected that this project will lead to reinforcing the fight against infectious diseases including COVID-19 in Bhutan, and contribute towards further strengthening of the friendship and cooperation between Japan and Bhutan.
