On 10th January, 2018, the handover ceremony for ‘the project for improvement of farm machinery for hiring services of tillage’ will be held in Paro city.
H.E. Mr. Kenji Hiramatsu, Ambassador of Japan to Bhutan, will attend the ceremony on behalf of the Government of Japan, while H.E. Mr. Lyonpo Yeshey Dorji, Minister of Agriculture and Forests of Bhutan, will also join this event.
The project will provide 353 farm machines which are imperative for hiring services with farmers in Bhutan, thereby leading to the widespread distribution of farm machinery in Bhutan. This project amounts to a total of 250 million Yen.
This project will lead to enhancing the living standards and food security in Bhutan by improving agricultural productivity and food self-sufficiency rate, and contribute towards further strengthening the friendship and cooperation between Japan and Bhutan.
