Royal Bhutan Flower Exhibition 2016

On June 4, 2016, Ambassador and Mrs. Kenji Hiramatsu attended the inauguration of the Royal Bhutan Flower Exhibition 2016 at the Ugyen Perli Palace, Paro. Their Majesties the King and Queen of Bhutan, His Royal Highness, Their Majesties the Fourth King and Queen Mothers, and all the ministers of the Royal Bhutanese Government attended the inauguration. After the inauguration ceremony, all the dignitaries walked around and looked at the various gardens in the palace.

The Royal Bhutan Flower Exhibition, organized by The Ministry of Agriculture and Forests, was started under the inspiration of His Majesty the King of Bhutan, as an exhibition on Horticulture. For this time’s exhibition, Mr. Masashi Hirao, Bonsai Master, who was dispatched from Japan upon the request from Bhutanese side to have Japanese Bonsai at the exhibition, conducted exhibitions and presentations of Bonsai works, demonstrations and training programs for Horticulture officials in Bhutan.

Bonsai works were exhibited at the Japanese Garden set up by the gardening specialist volunteers of Miharu Town (Fukushima Pref.).
