【Report】The Handover Ceremony of “the Project for the Provision of Recycled Fire Engines for Western Bhutan”

The handover ceremony of “the Project for the Provision of Recycled Fire Engines for Western Bhutan,” under the Grant Assistance for Grassroots Human Security Projects (GGP) scheme of the Government of Japan, was held on 17 July 2025, in Thimphu, Bhutan.
The ceremony was attended by Major General Chimi Dorji, Chief of Police at the recipient organization of the grant, Fire and Rescue Service Division, Royal Bhutan Police, and Mr.ONO Keiichi, Ambassador of Japan to the Kingdom of Bhutan.

The Government of Japan hopes that this new project, implemented through the GGP scheme, will contribute to enhancing Bhutan’s firefighting and disaster preparedness systems and to improving the living environment of local communities, thereby further strengthening the friendship and cooperation between Bhutan and Japan.
