Exchange of Notes concerning Grant Aid Project ‘the Project for Reconstruction of Bridges on Primary National Highway No.1 in Mongar District’

On May 20, Mr. SUZUKI Hiroshi, Ambassador of Japan to Bhutan, and His Excellency Mr. Vetsop Namgyel, Ambassador of Bhutan to Japan, exchanged notes in New Delhi concerning the provision of the grant aid for the Project for Reconstruction of Bridges on Primary National Highway No.1 in Mongar District (total provision of the grant is up to 1.634 billion yen).
Details of the project are as follows:
“The Project for Reconstruction of Bridges on Primary National Highway No.1 in Mongar District”
Maximum Amount: 1.634 billion yen
This project will replace the bridge located over the National Highway No. 1 in Mongar District.
This project will improve the convenience and sustainability of the main trunk line, and will also improve the capacity of the Bhutanese government and others to plan and supervise bridge construction projects.
The project is also expected to improve the country's human security through the maintenance and improvement of logistics, human mobility, and access to medical care, thereby promoting sustainable economic and social stability and development.
