Exchange of Notes concerning Additional Grant Aid by Japanese Government’s Supplementary Budget for ‘The Project for Making Digital Topographic Map’

On March 7, H.E Mr. SUZUKI Hiroshi, Ambassador of Japan to Bhutan, and H.E. Mr. Vetsop Namgyel, Ambassador of Bhutan to Japan, exchanged notes in New Delhi concerning additional grant aid by the Japanese Government’s Supplementary Budget for ‘The Project for Making Digital Topographic Map’.
Details of the project are as follows:
“The Project for Making Digital Topographic Map”
Counterpart: National Land Commission Secretariat (NLCS)
Total amount of the Grant: 880 million Japanese Yen (Of this amount, 84 million yen is additionally granted this time)
This project provides digital topographic maps of central north and major urban areas of Bhutan for equipping geospatial information which is fundamental to formulate various development plans to promote disaster preparedness and water source management.
Japan will continue to extend its assistance in the economic development of Bhutan by meeting its various needs - from small to large - by effectively combining Grant Aid, GGP, and ODA Loan.
