Exchange of Notes concerning Grant Aid Project ‘the Project for the Construction of Royal Centre for Infectious Diseases (RCID)’

On September 22, Mr. SUZUKI Satoshi, Ambassador of Japan to Bhutan, and His Excellency Mr. Vetsop Namgyel, Ambassador of Bhutan to Japan, have exchanged notes in New Delhi concerning the provision of the grant aid for the Project for the Construction of Royal Centre for Infectious Diseases (total provision of the grant aid is up to 2.994 billion yen).
 
Details of the project are as follows:
 
“The Project for the Construction of Royal Centre for Infectious Diseases”
Maximum Amount: 2.994 billion yen
 
This project aims to facilitate the development of medical infrastructure through the construction of the hospital wards and the provision of the medical equipment. The RCID is also expected to function as a hub for development of human resources in the field of infectious diseases in order to contribute towards further improvement of protection measures against infectious diseases like multidrug-resistant tuberculosis.
 
It is hoped that the completed center will serve as the core of Bhutan’s medical development related to infectious diseases providing long-lasting benefits to the Bhutanese people and improving the country’s health care service environment.
