The Teacher Training program under the Scholarship of the Japanese Government (Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology:MEXT) for the year 2013 is now open for application to interested candidates for conducting research on school education at Japanese Universities.
The Teacher Training program is of a maximum 18 months duration (including first 6 months for Japanese language training) from October 2013 to March 2015. The duration of the program depends on host university’s training course. Participants will be awarded a certificate after successful completion of the specified course of the host university.
To be eligible to apply for the scholarship, candidates must be below 35 years of age with a minimum of 5 years of teaching experience in primary and secondary schools.
The scholarship benefits are: free tuition fees, monthly stipend (approximately Rs 83,000 per month for 2012 program) and one return air ticket.

The deadline for submitting the applications is 1st March 2013. Applications can be submitted at the Embassy of Japan in New Delhi and Consulates General of Japan in Kolkata, Chennai, Mumbai, and Consulate of Japan in Bangalore.
