Statement by the Press Secretary/Director-General for Press and Public Relations, Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Japan,
on Bomb Blasts in India

    1. The Government of Japan is deeply shocked by the bombings on the train traveling in the State of Haryana, India, on 19 February which has resulted in many deaths and casualties including Pakistani nationals. The Government of Japan expresses sympathy for those killed by the bombings and sends condolences to the bereaved families. We also express sympathy for those injured and pray for their early recovery.

    2. We strongly condemn the bombings as an inexcusable act, targeted at innocent people.

    3. The Government of Japan will continue to strengthen our cooperation with both the Government of India and the Government of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan to tackle international terrorism.
