Message from Mr. Junichiro Koizumi, Prime Minister of Japan, to Dr. Manmohan Singh, Prime Minister-Designate of India 

Tokyo, 20th May, 2004

1. H.E. Mr. Junichiro Koizumi, Prime Minister of Japan, today sent a message to H.E. Dr. Manmohan Singh, in which he congratulated Dr. Singh for his appointment as Prime Minister-designate of India on May 19, as well as the victory of the Indian National Congress Party in the recent Lok Sabha elections.
     
2. In his message, the Prime Minister of Japan noted that the bilateral relationship between Japan and India has strengthened in various fields in an endeavour to establish a Global Partnership for the 21st Century. Prime Minister Koizumi further expressed his wish to working with Dr. Singh with a view to developing the cordial relationship to a newly enhanced level.
