Statement by the Press Secretary/Director General for Press and Public Relations, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, on the Proposals by India to improve Relations between India and Pakistan

Tokyo, 23rd October, 2003

1. The Government of Japan welcomes the announcement of proposals by Mr. Sinha, Minister of External Affairs of India, to improve India-Pakistan relations.  It also welcomes the announced Pakistani position to respond positively to the Indian proposals.    

2. The Government of Japan hopes that these efforts will further promote improvement in India-Pakistan relations.
