NEW DELHI: 11 July 2011
Japan Tourism Promotion event to take place on 14 July 2011

On 14 July 2011, the Embassy of Japan in New Delhi, Japan Tourism Agency (JTA), and Japan National Tourism Organization (JNTO) are hosting a tourism promotion event consisting of seminar followed by a reception.

A delegation of 14 important Indian opinion leaders, including Mr. Suresh Prabhu (former Union Minister), Mr. Sudheendra Kulkarni (Chairman - Observer Research Foundation), and Mr. Subhash Goyal (Chairman - STIC Travel Group), recently traveled to Japan on a visit arranged by JNTO, to experience first-hand the recovery from the devastation of the earthquake and tsunami that hit Japan on 11 March 2011 and resilience of Japan, which offers many lessons to India and to the world.

In the seminar, members of this delegation, along with members of the ‘Visit Japan Promotion Committee’ will engage in a panel discussion primarily focusing on the recovery process of Japan, clearing misconceptions about Japan as a safe and comfortable tourist destination, and the potential for increasing business ties between Japan and India.
