NEW DELHI: 16 April, 2011
1. The Government of Japan will hand over educational facilities to the Royal Government of Bhutan through “the Project for Construction of Educational Facilities" amounting to 1,064 million yen grant assistance. Dr. Goki Inada, First Secretary, Embassy of Japan in New Delhi, will attend the handing over ceremony at Phobjikha, on 16th April, 2011.
2. Under the project, 3 middle secondary schools have been constructed at Kabjisa, Phobjikha and Pakishikha.
3. The Government of Japan hopes that this grant assistance would help increase accessibility to middle secondary and higher education while improving educational facilities and its quality, as envisaged in the 10th Five Year Plan, as well as contribute to further strengthening of the friendly relationship between Japan and Bhutan.
