1.          Cabinet  Minister,  Director  General  of  Defense  Agency  of Japan, Mr.   Shigeru   Ishiba,  is   scheduled   to   make  an   official  visit  to  India  on 3 and 4 May 2003.  

2.         Mr.  Ishiba  will  arrive  in New Delhi late on Saturday, 3 May 2003, and will leave for Tokyo late on Sunday, 4 May 2003.  

3.         The  visit of Mr. Ishiba is taking place on the invitation by the Honourable Defence Minister of India, Mr. George Fernandes.  A meeting between Mr. Ishiba and Mr. Fernandes will be held in the late afternoon of Sunday, 4 May 2003, in New Delhi.
