GOVERNMENT OF JAPAN EXTENDS US$91,867
GRANT ASSISTANCE TO PARO DZONGKHG, BHUTAN, UNDER GRANT ASSISTANCE FOR GRASSROOTS
PROJECT
1. The Government of Japan, under its scheme ‘Grant Assistance for Grassroots Projects’, today decided to extend grant assistance totalling US$91,867 (approximately equivalent to Nu 41.lacs) to PARO DZONGKHG, Bhutan, to support the River Training Works project at Hungrel, reinforcing the banks of Duchu River and Pachu River, which were seriously damaged by the cyclone Ailia in May 2009.
2. The Signing Ceremony to formalize the arrangements is conducted on Thursday, 18th February, 2010, at the Embassy of Japan, between H.E. Mr. Hideaki DOMICHI, Ambassador of Japan to Bhutan and H. E. Mr. V. NAMGYEL, Ambassador of The Kingdom of Bhutan to Japan.
