(Presentation of his Credentials and Launching of 30th anniversary)
Ambassador Hiramatsu visited the Kingdom of Bhutan and presented his credentials to His Majesty King Jigme Khesar Namgyel Wangchuck on February 3rd. During his visit, he was received in audience by His Majesty Jigme Singye Wangchuck, the Fourth King, and His Majesty the King, Jigme Khesar Namgyel Wangchuck. Ambassador also made courtesy calls on senior government leaders including the Prime Minister Tobgay. On February 4th, he attended the kick-off event of the 30th Anniversary of the Establishment of Diplomatic Relations between Japan and the Kingdom of Bhutan “Photo Exhibition about Japan-Bhutan Cooperation in the field of Agriculture”, and subsequently hosted an inaugurating reception.

Ambassador Hiramatsu stated in his speech that he felt honoured to take up the assignment as Ambassador of Bhutan at the significant juncture, Japan would continue to cooperate with Bhutan for her development and also work together in the international community, and that as ambassador of Japan to Bhutan, he is fully committed to exert himself to further promote exchanges of people at various levels during the year of the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Japan and Bhutan.
