The student wings of Indo-Japan Association and Bharat Japan Maitri Parishad have been meeting regularly two years in India and one year in Japan since 1997 to discuss and exchange views/opinions on varied topics, for example, youth issues, global environment issues, bilateral relations, etc. The 11th Japan India Student Conference took place in Delhi, Kolkata and Pune. The Conference was held in collaboration with Bharat Japan Maitri Parishad in Delhi, Association of Friendship with Japan in Pune, and Nihongo Kaiwa Kyokai in Kolkata.

The event was also supported by many academic institutes like Jawaharlal Nehru University, Delhi University, University of Pune and University of Kolkata, etc.
