It is my honor to represent my country as new Ambassador of Japan to the Kingdom of Bhutan. I am determined to enhance the existing cordial bilateral relationship between the two countries by building on the previous achievements.
Japan has more than thirty years of diplomatic relations with Bhutan since 1986. Throughout the years, the bilateral relationship has deepened at wide variety of levels, including public and private sectors and the Imperial and Royal households. Recently, Their Imperial Highnesses Crown Prince and Crown Princess of Akishino and Prince Hisahito were very warmly welcomed by the people of the Kingdom during their visit to Bhutan in August 2019. Furthermore, the interactions between the two countries have increasingly expanded from economic cooperation in the fields of agriculture and infrastructure to political and cultural cooperation. The annual Japan Week in Bhutan that took place in September is an illustrating example of our deepening cultural ties.
I wish to express my unwavering commitment to ensure that the mutual trust and the friendship between the two countries will continue to deepen and expand in the coming years.
