Bangalore Japanese Association and Japanese Chamber of Commerce & Industry, Bangalore organized Bangalore Metro Experience and Painting Contest on 3rd June 2012, in collaboration with Bangalore Metro and JICA. Bangalore Metro was constructed with yen loan assistance from Japan, which considerably eased the traffic of Bangalore.

A large number of children living in Bangalore enthusiastically participated in the event and enjoyed a ride on Bangalore Metro. After the ride, they painted their experiences with a wonderful sense of imagination. Those children, whose paintings were adjudged outstanding, were awarded prizes by Mr. Ryoji Noda, Counsellor of Embassy of Japan in India on 10th June 2012 at a colourful ceremony.
