General Grant Aid Assistance for Bhutan - Inauguration ceremony for ‘The Project for Improvement of Medical Equipment at the National and Regional Referral Hospitals’-

On 29th June 2018, the inauguration ceremony for 'The Project for Improvement of Medical Equipment at the National and Regional Referral Hospitals' will be held in Thimphu.
H.E. Mr. Kenji Hiramatsu, Ambassador of Japan to Bhutan, will attend the ceremony on behalf of the Government of Japan, while Hon'ble Dasho Dr. Ugen Dophu, Secretary of the Ministry of Health will also join this event.
The project, amounting to a total of 551 million Yen, will provide high-level medical equipments, such as CT scanner, to the National Hospital in Thimphu and Regional Referral Hospitals in Mongar and Sarpang, thereby leading to the enhancement of diagnostic services and improvement of access to medical services for the people living in rural regions of Bhutan.
This project will lead to improving the living standards and sustainable economic development in Bhutan by upgrading the medical services and access to them, and contribute towards further strengthening of the friendship and cooperation between Japan and Bhutan.
