General Grant Aid Assistance for Bhutan - Inauguration ceremony for ‘The Project for Reconstruction of Bridges on Primary National Highway No. 1’-

On 28th June 2018, the inauguration ceremony for ‘The Project for Reconstruction of Bridges on Primary National Highway No. 1’ will be held in Wangdue Phodrang.
 
H.E. Mr. Kenji Hiramatsu, Ambassador of Japan to Bhutan, will attend the ceremony on behalf of the Government of Japan, while H.E. Ms. Lyonpo Dorji Choden, Minister of Works and Human Settlement of Bhutan, will also join this event.
 
The project, amounting to a total of 1 billion 956 million Yen, reconstructed three old bridges and their connecting roads on Primary National Highway No.1, which is the sole principal road connecting the East and the West of Bhutan, thereby ensuring an efficient and safe road system in Bhutan.
 
This project will lead to enhancing the living standards while advancing socio-economic activities in Bhutan by facilitating smooth traffic and distribution network on Primary National Highway No.1, and contribute towards further strengthening the friendship and cooperation between Japan and Bhutan.
