Grant Aid for Bhutan to be signed in the amount of 250 million Yen

The signing ceremony of the Exchange of Notes (E/N) for “the Project for Improvement of Farm Machinery for Hiring Services of Tillage” will be held on 18th October 2016, at the Embassy of Japan in New Delhi.

In this ceremony, the E/N will be signed between H.E. Mr. Kenji Hiramatsu, Ambassador of Japan to Bhutan, and H.E. Maj. Gen. Vetsop Namgyel, Ambassador of Bhutan to Japan.

This project, the amount of which totals 250 million Yen, aims to provide 353 power tillers, in order to improve access to farm machinery by the farmers.

The Government of Japan hopes that the Grand Aid will enhance the quality of life and help to reinforce the food security for the people of Bhutan through an improved agriculture productivity and food self-sufficiency, and further strengthen the relations of friendship and cooperation between Japan and Bhutan, who are celebrating the 30th anniversary of the establishment of our diplomatic relations.
