North East Bamboo Workshop

On August 2, Embassy of Japan in India and Government of India organized Bamboo Workshop in Agartala, the State capital of Tripura, as part of endeavors to enhance cooperation in North East under “Japan-India Act East Forum”.
The workshop was conducted with the participation by Ms. Kei Hasegawa, Japanese Bamboo Artist from Japan, who was invited with the support of The Japan Foundation, New Delhi. The objective of this workshop is to share Japanese bamboo design and technique with bamboo artisans of North East and contribute to the improvement of bamboo products of North East (link to press release, opening remarks of Minister Sone).
