Japan & India initiate a cooperative research on Unmanned Ground Vehicles /Robotics

Japan and India on July 31 signed a Project Arrangement concerning the cooperative research on the Visual Simultaneous Localization and Mapping (SLAM) Based Global Navigation Satellite System (GNSS) Augmentation Technology for UGV/robotics.

This is the first ever cooperative research arrangement between the two defence ministries after the bilateral agreement on the transfer of defence equipment and technology of 2016. Further development of the technology is expected through this collaborative effort.
