Inauguration of the section of Delhi Metro Pink Line between Majlis Park and Durgabai Deshmukh South Campus stations, supported by the Government of Japan

On 14th March, 2018, the Delhi Metro Rail Project (Phase 3), the section of Pink Line between Majlis Park and Durgabhai Deshmukh South Campus (21.56 km), with 12 stations, was inaugurated. This demonstrates Japan’s active support for the Delhi Metro with Japan’s Official Development Assistance (ODA) loans as well as Japanese railway technologies and safety management.
 
 The Japanese principles of railway safety management and project management are being implemented in this newly-inaugurated section of Delhi Metro, with Oriental Consultants as a project management consultant. In addition, Japanese technologies and quality control are also applied to this section. Mitsubishi Electric is supplying the propulsion system for the rolling stocks, and Mitsui & Co. has been roped in for rail procurement.
 
Ambassador Hiramatsu celebrated the inauguration of this section at the inauguration ceremony, along with H.E. Mr. Hardeep Singh Puri, Hon’ble Minister of State, Housing and Urban Affairs, Dr.Harsh Vardhan, Hon’ble Minister of Science and Technology, Earth Sciences, and Environment, Forest and Climate change and     H.E.
