Ambassador Hiramatsu visits Kerala

From 28 November to 1 December, Ambassador Hiramatsu visited Kerala.
On 29th November, Ambassador Hiramatsu made courtesy calls on the Hon'ble Governor of Kerala and the Hon’ble Chief Minister of Kerala, in Trivandrum.
During the meeting with H.E. Mr. Pinarayi Vijayan, Hon'ble Chief Minister of Kerala, Ambassador Hiramatsu stated that the Government of Japan will encourage expansion of economic cooperation in the business sector and promoting of Japanese language education and tourism. The Chief Minister expressed his hope for investment and technical support from Japan, especially in the fields of food processing of marine products, clean energy, solid waste management, and skill development.
On 30th November, Ambassador Hiramatsu attended the inaugural session of “Japan Mela” and opening ceremony of the new auditorium at Nippon Kerala Center, and also visited Nitta Gelatin India Limited in Kochi.
At the inaugural session of Japan Mela, Ambassador Hiramatsu mentioned in his speech that there is potential for Japan and Kerala to widen the scope of their economic cooperation in terms of tourism, service industries, IT field, food processing and environment, among others.
