On April 24 and May 3, Ambassador Hiramatsu invited Delhi University and Jawaharlal Nehru University Professors from the field of Japanese Studies and Japanese Language Education, for meetings at his residence.

In these meetings, the Ambassador expressed his gratitude for their continuous contribution in the field of Japanese Studies and Japanese Language Education. Besides, it made a good opportunity to discuss the current situation in their research fields, the problems being faced by them currently, and the way to go forward in future. On the occasion, Ambassador Hiramatsu also introduced several events affiliated with 2017 The Year of Japan-India Friendly Exchanges, as well as the application process of Japan’s National Government Scholarship Program (MEXT Scholarship).

We hope that the professors would continue to vitalize their research and education activities, to produce more Japanese studies and language specialists who can help to promote the Japan-India relationship as well as bringing Japan and India closer.
