Ambassador Hiramatsu attended the opening event of the first MUJI retail store in New Delhi

On the evening of 5 May 2017,  Ambassador Hiramatsu attended MUJI Evening at MUJI store in the Saket SELECT CITYWALK, the opening event of the first MUJI retails store in New Delhi. The event was hosted by Mr. Satoru Matsuzaki, President and Representative Director, Ryohin Keikaku Co. Ltd., Japan and Mr. Darshan Mehta, President & CEO, Reliance Brands Limited.  Many of the participants expressed their strong expectations for MUJI.  Ambassador Hiramatsu explained in his remarks about the rapid increase of investments and the diversification of areas of investments from Japan to India, as represented by the arrival of a lifestyle brand as MUJI. Ambassador Hiramatsu welcomed the launch of MUJI to New Delhi by introducing MUJI as the first-ever Japanese retailer to be granted an approval for operations in India from the Indian Government’s Foreign Investment Promotion Board and the company seriously working to protect the environment and health of the people, as demonstrated by MUJI’s special attention to Indian organic cotton.
