Kick-off Seminar of the Japan-India Joint Research Laboratory Program in the fild of ICT

On 31st  January, the Kick-off Seminar of the Japan-India Joint Research Laboratory Program in the field of ICT(Information and Communication Technology) was held in IIT-Delhi. Prof. Ashutoshu Sharma, Secretary, Department of Science and Technology, Prof. V. Ramgopal Rao, Director , Indian Institute of Technology Delhi, Mr. Takeshi Nakane, Ambassador for Science and Technology Cooperation of Japan, and Mr. Kenji Hiramatsu, Ambassador of Japan to India, attended the seminar.
 
This program is promoted by the Japan Science and Technology Agency(JST) and Department of Science and Technology, Government of India(DST). It aims to establish collaborative research laboratories of ICT field in India. The laboratories continuously promote collaborative researches to realize social and industrial applications of research achievements in India, and will become a symbol of Japan-India Science and Technology cooperation.
 
IIT-Delhi, IIT-Bombay, IIT-Hyderabad (Indian side), Tokyo University and Kyushu University (Japanese side), are participating in this program. The support for this program will continue for at least 5 years (maximum 10 years).
